Playa de Muro is one of Mallorca’s most spectacular beaches, with white sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters, ideal for families. Its natural surroundings make it a perfect place to relax.
Playa de Muro is regularly named one of the best beaches in Spain — six kilometres of fine white sand, water so shallow you can wade out fifty metres before it reaches your waist, and a backdrop of dunes and Aleppo pines instead of high-rise hotels. The beach forms part of the Bay of Alcudia, but unlike its neighbours, the protected dune system means there is no seafront promenade and no road right on the beach. The transfer from Palma Airport takes about 50 minutes.
Just behind the dunes sits the S'Albufera Natural Park, 1,700 hectares of wetland with marked trails for walking and cycling — Mallorca's best birdwatching, with over 300 species recorded. The dune area itself is a protected reserve you can cycle through to reach Can Picafort. For families, the shallow water makes paddleboarding and kayaking easy.
The drop-off has to be at the hotel rather than the beach itself, since the dunes block direct access. A Janer-Bus private transfer takes the Ma-13 motorway and exits through Sa Pobla, fixed price, with luggage assistance, child seats on request and live flight tracking.
