Porto Cristo is a picturesque coastal town on the east coast of Mallorca, known for its natural harbor and tranquil beaches. Additionally, its surroundings feature attractions such as the famous Drach Caves.
Porto Cristo grew up around a deep natural harbour cut into the east coast — fishing boats still moor here, and the town beach sits in the same protected cove. The signature attraction is just five minutes south: the Caves of Drach (Coves del Drac), with one of the world's largest underground lakes and daily classical music concerts performed on the water. The transfer from Palma Airport takes about 55 minutes.
The Caves of Hams are a smaller alternative on the road into town — quieter, with formations as striking as Drach. Manacor, Mallorca's second city and Rafael Nadal's hometown, is a 10-minute drive inland; his Rafa Nadal Academy and museum are open to visitors. The harbour itself is the place for evening fish — Sa Llonja and Las Olas are the long-running favourites.
The drive to Porto Cristo takes the Ma-15 motorway via Manacor. Public buses involve a change in Manacor and run less frequently in the evening. A Janer-Bus private transfer goes direct for a fixed price, with vehicles up to 16 seats, child seats on request and live flight tracking.
